For the dining room chairs, Mandy found a blue
leather that looks like silk. ‘‘Leather is much better
for entertaining, because spills wipe right up,” she
says. The floral curtains help brighten a space
that's also used for breakfast.
ISLAND APPEAL
Cabinets in the kitchen took on years of age after
a distressed paint treatment. Flecks of green in
the granite inspired the island color, which
contrasts with painted cranberry barstools.
ROOM TO WORK
The Lowrys and their guests can prep, cook, clean
up—or just hang out—comfortably in a kitchen
with well-defined zones and ample surfaces. With
an abundance of cabinets and a pantry cupboard,
the Lowrys never lack for storage.
